Derry go into this afternoon’s Ulster Senior Hurling final against Antrim as underdogs despite having home advantage at Owenbeg in Dungiven (throw-in 3.30pm).
Antrim have been the dominate force in Ulster hurling for over 100 years and come to the Co Derry venue today seeking their 13th title in a row – their 54th overall.
They go into today’s clash as defending champions having defeated Down 4-20 to 1-17 in last season’s showpiece.
The game is a repeat of the 2012 final when Antrim ran out convincing winners on a scoreline of 3-18 to 0-09.
Derry have not won the championship since 2001 when a one point win over Down on a scoreline of 1-17 to 3-10 secured back-to-back titles having defeated Antrim the previous year 4-08 to 0-19.
The senior final will be preceded by the minor final, between the same two counties, which begins at 1.30pm.
Although both games are not all-ticket affairs, GAA rules stipulate fans must purchase a ticket prior to entry at the stiles at all Ulster GAA Senior Championship games.
As a result, there will be a number of official ticket selling points outside the ground, and tickets are also available to purchase online at gaa.tickets.ie
Tickets are priced at £13/€15 for adults, £9/€10 for students and senior citizens while under-16s will be admitted free.
