Institute came from behind on two occasions to earn a draw with Ulster Senior League side Letterkenny Rovers in a pre-season friendly played at Leckview last night.
With Letterkenny playing under former Derry City assistant Tony Gorman, as manager Eamon McConigley was unable to attend, Rovers took the lead thanks to finishes from Oisin McMenamin and Stephen O’Donnell, but Darren McFadden and Aaron Walsh secured the draw for the Drumahoe side.
Th fixture had allowed Paul Kee the opportunity for new addition, former Finn Harps midfielder Mark Forker, to show off his potential.
Ex Coleraine striker David Healy also made an appearance after beginning training with the Waterside club last week.
Thomas McBride was absent after picking up a minor knock midweek and Darren McCauley managed only a brief spell on the pitch from the bench after returning from injury as well.
Meanwhile , Institute’s friendly-list sees the first squad split up into separate teams once more as they visit Limavady and Ardstraw on Saturday, the parallel fixtures both kicking off at 2.00pm.
