GOLF NEWS: LARGE TURN OUT FOR LUNN’S JEWELLERS AM-AM AT PREHEN

Winners of The Lunn’s Jewellers AM-AM held at City of Derry. On left is Thomas Quigley of Lunn’s, Club Captain Bob McKimm and on right are the winning team of Tommy O Neill, George Pearson, Gary Leckey and Wyn Donnell with Robert Morrison of Lunn’s.

The team led by Gary Leckey, ably assisted by George Pearson, Wyn Donnell and Thomas O’Neill, was best of the 45 teams that competed in the very popular City of Derry Golf Club’s two-day AM-AM, sponsored by Lunn’s the Jewellers from Shipquay Street and Belfast.

They had a very impressive two round total of 184 (91 and 93) to finish ahead of the large entry.

Faughan Valley members, Billy Hutchman, Alan Gault, Ian Dunn and Conor McKnight,  finished as runners up with 182 (94 and 88).

Third place overall was taken by Brendan Duffy, Kevin Green and two visitors from Greencastle, Ryan O Doherty and Kris McMorriss on 181 (91 and 90).

Day one was won by Brian Burns, Graham Hepburn, Dan McAnulla and Jerome Moore with 92 and best on  Day Two went to the team led by Stephen Orr, Richard Peoples, gareth Reid and Phillip Brady who travelled all the way from Abu Dhabi to compete.
