A woman has had her handbag stolen from a car parked in a graveyard in Co Derry.
Police in Magherafelt have warned motorists to ensure their vehicles are locked and all valuable items are removed when their vehicles are left unattended following the incident which occurred in the old graveyard at St Mary’s Church on Ballyneese Road, Bellaghy yesterday evening.
It is believed the owner parked her vehicle at approximately 5.45pm and when she returned ten minutes later, she found her cream and brown handbag had been stolen through an open passenger window.
It is the latest incident in which items have been stolen from cars parked in church car parks and beauty spots in the South Derry area in recent months.
A PSNI spokesperson asked anyone with information about the theft to contact police non-emergency 101 telephone number.
