Thousands of players, officials, family members and supporters will take to the streets of Derry city centre this morning for the opening parade of this year’s Hughes Insurance Foyle Cup.
The parade will leave Ebrington Square at 11.00am and make its way to Guildhall Square where the city’s Mayor, Cllr Brenda Stevenson, will perform the official opening.
Throughout the week, over 220 teams – the competition’s biggest ever entry – will compete at under-10, under-11, under-12, under-13, under-13 girls, under-15, under-16, under-17, under-19 and ladies categories at venues in Derry, Strabane, Limavady, Dungiven, Eglinton, Greysteel, Killea, St Johnstone, Buncrana, Cockhill, Moville, Greencastle and Burt.
