The play area at Caratra Strand in Culdaff.
A young boy was airlifted to hospital this afternoon after a falling at a play area at Donegal beach popular with Derry sun worshippers.
It is understood the boy was playing with friends at the play park at Caratra Strand in Culdaff in Inishowen when he fell and suffered back injuries at around 3.00pm.
He was flown to Letterkenny General Hospital by the Rescue 118 helicopter from Sligo.
It is understood the boy suffered a spinal injury but it is not known how serious it is.
