A 52-year-old Derry woman has been given a suspended prison sentence at the city’s Magistrates Court for claiming benefit she was not entitled to.
Sharon Webb (52), from Esker Gardens in the Waterside, claimed Income Support, Employment and Support Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £8,207 while failing to declare she was living with her partner.
She was given a two month prison sentence suspended for a year and ordered to pay courts costs of £61.
She is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
