Manchester United and CSKA Moscow booked semi-final spots in the Dale Farm Milk Cup Premier section when they drew 2-2 in Derry’s Brandywell Stadium last night.
After falling behind, Gribbin drew the United youngsters level before Rashford cut in from the left and curled a brilliant shot into the far top corner to give the them a 2-1 lead at half time.
The Russians grabbed a point when a low free kick into the area somehow ended up in the back of the United net.
The result earned the Red Devil youngsters a semi-final spot against Scotland’s Partick Thistle while CSKA will play Vendee from France in the last four.
Earlier at Brandywell, Canada and China fought out a 1-1 draw in the tournament’s Elite (international) section.
It was the first time Milk Cup games were staged at the citywide venue in the competition’s 32-year history.
