The death has taken place of one of Derry’s oldest residents, Ita Crossan, from Beechwood Avenue.
Ita, who would have been 100 in January next, passed away peacefully yesterday.
She was believed to be the oldest person to visit a polling station to cast her vote during May’s local government and European elections.
Ita, who was predeceased by her husband Alex several years ago, is survived by her sons Terry and Edward and daughter Jane.
