Over 40 people are set to lose their jobs at the tax office on Duncreggan Road in Derry.
The Inland Revenue has offered voluntary redundancy to 44 staff because, it claims, more people were opting to carry out business online.
Fears first surfaced about the loss of the Derry jobs towards the end of last year when SDLP Foyle MP Mark Durkan challenged the British Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury David Gauke in the House of Commons over fears that hundreds of jobs could be lost at HMRC tax offices in Derry, Enniskillen and Newry.
