Russell McGowan (15) marked his return to Prehen’s winner’s enclosure with an impressive 43 points in the weekly Thursday Open.
An opening birdie two at the first started him off on the right track and another two at the eighth saw him march on to a 23 point front nine.
He then added another 20 points, that included another birdie at the 16th and he was home and dry.
Stephen Orr (10) also had a 23 point nine hole, his was on the second nine that started and finished with birdies and helped his break of tie second place on an overall 39 points.
Scratch man James Lindsay (0) took the best gross and third nett, with a fantastic three under par 68 that included seven “threes” and a two.
And for good measure, he had three consecutive birdies at 12, 13 and 14.

Brian Wallace (8) from Dunfanaghy took the visitor’s prize with 39 points, an ugly double bogey at the last hole costing him dearly
