Institute Football Club have renamed their boardroom at the Riverside Stadium in honour of former club chairman, John Burnside, who passed away earlier this year.
Members of the Burnside family attended the unveiling of a memorial plaque to mark the renaming of the boadroom at Drumahoe to the “John Burnside Suite.”
John, a devout servant of local football, was instrumental to the development of Institute, helping to inspire the club from intermediate level to the Premier League.
The 72-year-old, who played for Institute, was a founding member of Gransha FC and league secretary of the North West Saturday Morning League for a number of years.
