Bus workers in Derry are to vote tomorrow on whether or not to take strike action.
Translink staff from across the North will be taking part in the ballot after pay talks with company broke down, their union said
Unite said talks collapsed after Translink withdrew an offer of a pay increase due to “additional cuts to public transport funding” by Stormont.
However, Translink said pay negotiations with trade unions were ongoing.
The union has rejected a one per cent pay offer.
Michael Dornan, Unite spokesperson, said staff recognised the inconvenience a strike would cause and asked the travelling public to support the union in demanding politicians ring-fence “adequate funding for the public transport system.”
