A wreath-laying ceremony took place in Derry City Cemetery to mark the third anniversary of the death of Jon “Ugg” Clifford, the popular founder of Tristar Boys FC who passed away on 3 September, 2011.
Despite very heavy rain and blustery conditions a large number of Tristar members turned out to honour the memory of the “big man.”
Speaking at his graveside Jon’s nephew, Frankie Fleming, thanked everyone on behalf of the Clifford family for turning out on such a bad day.
He said they had done themselves, the club and Jon proud by making the club stronger since his passing.
This year is the club’s 40th anniversary and Frankie said the club would continue to get stronger and more successful in the months and years ahead.
