Abuse campaigners have called for next month’s concert in Derry by Snoop Dogg to be cancelled.
The US superstar is set to perform to 10,000 people at Ebrington Square on 23 October.
Tickets for the show, part of his Snoopadelic European tour, go on sale this weekend.
However, Marie Browne, of Derry-based Foyle Women’s Aid, said the gig should not go ahead, pointing out the lyrics used by the controversial Californian singer demeaned women.
She said: “We have very high rates of domestic violence in Northern Ireland.
“There is an actual shortage of bed spaces for women suffering domestic abuse and this is the type of person we are inviting in.
“Is it in keeping with what we want in our city? From a Women’s Aid perspective, no it’s not.
“The lyrics are demeaning, they objectify women and he has a history with drugs. Is this really what we want?”
The concert promoters, however, say the show will provide a boost to Derry.
In a statement, Legacy Promotions said: “There’s no doubt Snoop Dogg is one of the biggest names in the world of music.
“With 10,000 people attending the event it’ll bring a massive boost to the local economy especially for the like of hotels, pubs and restaurants.”
