Householders in Derry are being encouraged to avail of free home fire safety checks being offered by the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service.
Local Firefighters will visit and check homes to help make them fire safe.
They will check for appliances that could cause fire, help with any actions to avoid fire and, most importantly. ensure smoke alarms are working.
If necessary, they will fit a free smoke alarm.
