The PSNI in Derry have received several complaints about what appear to be fake tickets for this month’s MTV Crashes Derry gig being sold on social media sites.
Police say people who have contacted the social media site have then met a man in various locations in the city centre and money has changed hands.
Chief Inspector Tony Callaghan advised music fans not to buy tickets from unknown sources.
He said: “Please do not be taken in by these messages. The event sold out weeks ago. Also remember that tickets are non-transferrable.”
Tickets for the MTV Crashes weekend, priced at £5 and £10, sold out in record time when they went on sale last month.
