SDLP Foyle MP Mark Durkan donned a pink bra at Westminster this week in support of the Bosom Buddies campaign to raise awareness about the early detection of breast cancer.
Mr Durkan said said he was delighted to support the innovative campaign by Bosom Buddies who were doing “great work” spreading the word on identifying breast cancer to young people.
Mr Durkan added: “Their ultimate goal is to reduce the number of women contracting breast cancer by early detection at an early age – and with around 55,000 people being diagnosed every year we need to act fast!”
Event organiser, Lise Hardiman, tweeted: “It was great to meet Mark Durkan and thank him for being such a fab sport! I’m delighted he’s backing the Bosom Buddies campaign which aims to educate and empower women of all ages about breast cancer.”
