Derry athlete Scott Rankin put in an excellent performance to finish second in the annual Pure Running Laganside 10k run at Ormeau Park in Belfast yesterday.
The Foyle Valley AC runner was neck-and-neck with Annadale Strider Eddie MGinley who pulled away on the approach to the finishing straight, crossing the line in 31:23, to take the win and with it the Northern Ireland 10k Championship title.
Rankin posted 31:52 ahead of Paul Barbour, of Omagh Harriers, who clocked 32:24.
