SDLP Councillor Patsy Kelly has vehemently defended Strabane after a survey of the bad language used on Twitter found the Co Tyrone town’s residents were the fifth most likely to swear in Britain.
Cllr Kelly said: “I take this survey with a pinch of salt because anyone who has ever had the pleasure to visit Strabane will know people in the town are very mild mannered and well spoken.
“In fact, I would encourage people to come and visit this beautiful part of Co Tyrone to see and to hear that the social media survey making headlines isn’t reflective of the way the majority of people in Strabane behave.”
