A public meeting will be held in Derry next week as part of a consultation on the development of a cycling culture for Northern Ireland.
There is no requirement to register in advance of the event being held from 7.00pm to 9.00m on Thursday next, 25 September, in St Columb’s Park House on Limavady Road in the Waterside.
The strategy is currently out for consultation after being launched last month by Transport Minister, Danny Kennedy, who has invited everyone to have a say on the development of a cycling culture in the North.
The consultation period will run until 21 November next.
Mr Kennedy said: “Cycling is becoming increasingly popular with more people cycling to work or for leisure. In order to deliver a real cycling revolution in Northern Ireland, I want to make cycling an everyday activity where people have the freedom and confidence to travel by bicycle.
“A number of public consultation events will be held across Northern Ireland which will allow people to find out more about the draft proposals and put forward their views.”
Printed copies the cycling draft are available on request by emailing: [email protected] or by phoning 028 9054 0179.
