Derry Sinn Féin MLA Maeve McLaughlin has welcomed support for the expansion of the Magee campus of the University of Ulster.
Speaking after an adjournment debate in the Assembly, the Foyle MLA said the expansion of the university at Magee was not only crucial for Derry, but would also benefit the entire North and it was heartening to see MLAs from other constituencies taking part in the debate.
She added: “I secured this adjournment debate because of the importance of the expansion of Magee to the economic regeneration of Derry.
“It is a critical catalyst for the regeneration strategy.
“This debate provided an opportunity for MLAs to voice their support for the expansion of Magee and the wider boost to the economy it would bring.”
