The North West’s sporting public have been urged to go along to Finn Park tonight to roar Finn Harps into the FAI Cup semi-finals – and a possible clash with Derry City.
Harps entertain Avondale in their cup quarter-final following Sunday’s 1-1 draw in Cork and Harps official, John Campbell, believes the Ballybofey club’s changes of progression would be boosted if a big crowd descended on Finn Park tonight.
The last time Harps reached a semi-final was in 1999 when they defeated Galway United to reach the final, which they lost to Bray Wanderers.
Campbell believes the management and players deserve a big crowd, and praised their efforts throughout the season.
He said: “The management and players deserve a big crowd, they’ve all put in a heroic effort all season, the effort and commitment has been top class.
“They deserve a big crowd to come out and support them, a place in the semi-final would be fantastic for the club, and hopefully we can get over the line tonight.”
Damien McNulty and Sean McCarron are available again for Harps after missing Sunday’s game in Cork through suspension.
However, Tommy McMonagle is out while Caoimhe Bonner is a doubt.
Derry City booked their place in the last four last night with an emphatic 5-0 win over Drogheda United.
