A vigil is to be held in Derry tonight to mark the first anniversary of the death of Greek anti-fascist rapper Pavlos Fyssas.
The fatal stabbing of the 34-year-old shocked the country and led to widespread condemnation from across the Greek political spectrum and abroad.
At the time, thousands of people held a peaceful anti-fascist protest in an area near where Fyssas was killed in Keratsini, west of Athens.
Similar demonstrations saw violent clashes between police and protesters in several Greek cities.
A man arrested for the killing admitted stabbing Fyssas to police and identified himself as a member of Golden Dawn, a party known for intimidation and violent attacks, usually against dark-skinned migrants.
Tonight’s vigil will take place at Free Derry Corner at 7.00pm.
Simultaneous vigils will be held in Cork and Dublin,
