Robin McClay (15) was the clear winner of the weekly Thursday Open at City of Derry Golf Club yesterday.
His well compiled 43 points featured a steady 20 points at the turn followed by excellent 23 points on the back nine that included four points from his chip in birdie on the long “Foyle” hole.
Pars at the last two holes for six points were the icing on the cake.
Alan (Bean) Simpson (8) finished in second place with 41 points, reaping the benefits of his recent visits to Slieve Russell and Carton House.
Neil Duncan (17) had a welcome podium finish with his 40 points and third place.
Stephen Harris (16) from Letterkenny Golf Club was the top visitor on 37 points and Kealan Quigg (0) went round in three under gross 68 strokes to be the clear winner of the gross.
