Action Cancer’s Big Bus mobile detection unit will be visiting Derry twice within eight days from this Friday.
Members of the public, both men and women, are encouraged to make appointments for the services provided on the Big Bus, which include digital breast screening for women aged between 40 and 49 and over 70, health promotion and MOT health checks.
A full body composition analysis using the latest technology provides clients with information on their height, weight, body mass index and more, and also offers health awareness and weight loss guidance.
The unit, sponsored by SuperValu, will at Ebrington Square parade ground this Friday as part of the LegenDerry Moonlight Walk with appointments available from 1.00pm to 7.00pm.
It will return to the city the on Saturday, 4 October next, when it will be hosted by the Ballymagroarity and Hazlebank Community Partnership at St. Mary’s College on Northland Road, with appointments available from 10.00am to 3.00pm.
Anyone interested in making an appointment for the Big Bus should telephone Action Cancer in advance on 028 9080 3344.
Alternatively, you can book online by going to www.actioncancer.org, and follow the ‘online booking’ link on the home page.
Appointments will taken on a first come first served basis as there are a limited number of appointments for all services.
The LegenDerry Moonlight Walk, also supported by SuperValu, will leave Ebrington Square at 7.00pm this Friday.
The five mile walk will cross both the iconic Foyle and Peace Bridges. All participants are encouraged to dress in pink -the crazier the outfits the better – to help raise awareness of the charity’s services in the North West.
Men and women, both young and old are encouraged to get involved in this fun-filled event in memory or support of a loved one with cancer.
