The Ford FAI Cup semi-finals featuring North West neighbours Derry City and Finn Harps are to be screened live on television on Sunday week.
Both sides travel to Dublin on Sunday, 5 October, Derry to face Shamrock Rovers while Harps take on St Patrick’s Athletic.
Both games will be shown live on RTE Two, Harps’ game kicking off at 1.45pm with Derry’s clash with the Hoops starting at 3.55pm.
Derry City have won the cup five times since entering the League of Ireland in 1985, the last occasion being two years ago when they beat St Patrick’s Athletic 3-2 after extra time.
Rovers are the most successful club in the competition, winning the cup 24 times – however, they have not lifted the trophy since 1987 when the defeated Dundalk 3-0.
Harps have only won the cup once, a 3-1 victory over this year’s semi-final opponents St Pat’s in 1974 – their only success in senior football.
St Pat’s have won the cup twice, the last time in 1961.
