Digital communications company EE has officially opened its new customer service centre in Derry.
The company aims to employ 300 people in the city by the end of this year.
The opening has been welcomed by Foyle SDLP MP Mark Durkan who instigated the EE investment in the city after meeting with company representatives at an information event in Westminster, said:
Speaking at today’s official opening, Mr Durkan said: “I am delighted to welcome the EE team to Derry today and commend them on their commitment to our city.
“When I first spoke to EE representatives at an information event in Parliament after their brand launch they promised to look at Derry as a possible location.
“They were interested by the City of Culture, Digital Derry, CultureTech, Project Kelvin, the Super Connected status and the experience of other companies.
“True to their word they followed up that interest and engaged positively with Invest NI.”
Mr Durkan concluded: “EE’s decision to create a new customer service centre in Derry is a vote of confidence in the city as an investment location and also recognition of the calibre of the local workforce.”
