James McGeady (28) was the clear winner of the Open Stableford played at City of Derry yesterday, his score of 41 points to head the field leaving him absolutely delighted to see his handicap drop by two shots to 26.
A break of tie fell in Trevor Heywood’s (18) favour, 21 of his 39 points coming on the back nine giving him the second prize just marginally ahead of Sam Holmes (14) who finished in third place with 39 points.
Best of the low men was John Crumlish (4) who scored 34 gross points.
