Young Sean McCloskey reaped the rewards from the hours of practice put in by winning Sunday’s Open competition at North West Golf Club with a score of 40 points.
An indifferent score of 17 points on the front nine was followed up by a three over gross score and 23 points on the back nine for his winning total.
In second place, also on 40 points, was Tony McElhinney, the difficult par threes at Lisfannon claiming another scalp when he blanked the par three eighth hole.
Best gross of the day and winner of the gross prize was Padraig Mac Lochlainn with 74 shots.
In third place with 39 points came Derek McDowell.
Back nine winner with 21 points was Paul O’Hea.
