Derg Sinn Féin Councillor Ruairi McHugh will lead a party delegation to meet with the Parades Commission in Castlederg this week.
Members of the Parades Commission are visiting Castlederg as part of their review into parading issues in the area.
Cllr McHugh said he welcomed the decision by the Parades Commission to visit Castlederg.
He added: “The current situation in Castlederg needs reviewed speedily.
“The amount of loyalist parades coupled with the saturation of the town with loyalist flags this year has been beyond ridiculous and has done nothing to improve community relations.
“So far this year there have been 21 loyalist parades held in Castlederg with the majority of them taking place in the town centre.
“There has been no attempt by those who hosted these parades to enter into any form of dialogue with community representatives, residents or business people in Castlederg, something the Parades Commission places great emphasis on.
Cllr McHugh concluded: “We have no issues with people wanting to celebrate their cultural identity; however consideration needs to be given to others in the town that are not from the same tradition. Our main emphasis will be on the number of parades, the timing of parades and the route of parades.”
