burglarPolice in Derry are investigating the theft of a van in a creeper burglary in the Galliagh area of the city in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The van was taken after thieves gained entry to a house at Fernabbey and stole the keys.

PSNI Detective Inspector David McQuade said the van was found in the Creggan area of the city after 7.00am.

Appealing for information, DI McQuade added: “Detectives are keen to hear from for anyone who saw a white Ford Transit with writing on the side between midnight and 7am on the Waterside or cityside in circumstances that seemed unusual.”

DI McQuade said information could be given on the police non-emergency 101 telephone number.

Alternatively, it could be provided to the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
