Firefighters were called to a blaze in a house in the Foyle Springs area of Derry last night.
A fire crew wearing breathing apparatus used two hosereel jets to deal with the blaze involving a tumble dryer in a detached house at Ard Grange shortly before 7.00pm.
A spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said smoke alarms had “actuated” and alerted the occupiers to the danger.
