Up to 1,000 runners and walkers are expected to take part in the Marty’s Run taking place in Derry tomorrow morning.
The annual event is staged by Foyle Valley Athletics Club in memory of Marty Gallagher, one of the club’s members who was tragically killed in 2009.
The race will start opposite St Brigid’s College on Glengalliagh Road at 11.00am and finish at Templemore Sports Complex.
Registration will take place at Templemore Sports Complex today between 12.00 noon and 4.00pm and tomorrow from 9.00am to 10.30am.
The race fee is £10 and entrants will receive a commemorative t-shirt. Refreshments will be available at the finish.
There will be prizes for the popular running categories and a perpetual trophy for the first male and female runners.
The presentations will take place immediately afterwards in Templemore Sports Complex.
