The Foyle Hospice has appointed Donall Henderson as its new chief executive.
Mr. Henderson, originally from Buncrana in Co Donegal, has 20 years experience in the voluntary sector, mainly focused on housing and health services.
Mr Henderson said he was “absolutely delighted and privilege” to have been appointed chief executive of the Hospice.
He added the Hospice’s “primary purpose” was to make a “positive difference” to the lives of patients, their families and friends.
He added: “I am really looking forward to working with trustees, colleagues and stakeholders to develop a strategy for the future, which will ensure continued delivery and development of services to the North West.”
He concluded: “I am also strongly focused on the presentation of best practice and training with a view to the Foyle Hospice becoming a centre of excellence in hospice and palliative care services.”
Mr Henderson’s appointment coincides with the start of World Hospice and Palliative Care Week which runs from today until Sunday next.
