Finn Harps 0 Longford Town
Finn Harps ended their Airtricity Division One season with a disappointing 2-0 defeat to newly-crowned champions Longford Town at Finn Park this afternoon.
The visitors wasted a number of opportunities to take the lead before David O’Sullivan headed home a free-kick on the half-hour to deservedly put Longford in front.
Harps were presented with the chance of drawing level level in the 68th minute when they were awarded a penalty after Pat McCann was impeded inside the area.
However, Town goalkeeper Bennion did enough to save Sean McCarron’s spot kick.
Mark Salmon wrapped clinched the game, and the First Division title, with a second eight minutes from time.
