Alan Bennett’s multi award-winning play The History Boys is to begin a major tour at Derry’s Millennium Forum next spring.
Winner of both Laurence Olivier and Tony Awards, the play follows a group of quick-witted pupils at a northern grammar school as they prepare for their Oxbridge exams under the guidance of three eclectic teachers.
Set in the 1980s, these bright but unruly sixth-formers are determined to get to grips with all things sex, scandal and scholarship – in a pursuit of knowledge which would teach even the most street wise of audiences a thing or two.
Presented in a brand new touring production from the producers of Avenue Q UK and Ireland Tour, Spring Awakening UK Tour and Seussical West End, The History Boys is a hilariously funny and exceptionally moving play about the true purpose of education which is set for the very top of the league table.
The History Boys performs at the Millennium Forum from Tuesday to Saturday, 12-16 May.
Tickets are now available from the Millennium Box Office, telephone (028) 71 264455 or visit www.millenniumforum.co.uk for bookings.
