Police in Derry are investigating an assault on a woman who resisted an attempt to drag her in a car in the city at the weekend.
The woman was walking from a garage on Abercorn Road down Maureen Avenue at about 3.00am on Saturday when she was by an unknown man who tried to drag her into a dark medium-sized car.
When she resisted, a second man assaulted her by punching her in the face.
Detective Inspector David McQuade police were keen to hear from anyone who saw the incident or a car of the kind described in the area at the time.
He added: “Information can be given on the police non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, it can be provided to the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
