Three youths, aged 13, 15 and 16, were detained by police after a wreath was removed from the war memorial in Derry on Saturday night.
Police said the trio were detained after police were directed to The Diamond shortly after 10.00pm by city centre CCTV operators.
Constable John Wilson, of the City Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “As a direct result of this, a 13 year old was arrested for theft and criminal damage of the wreath and was taken home to his parents.”
“A report will be made to the police Youth Diversion Officer.”
