A family was left badly shaken after a shot was fired at their house and a car set on fire in the Ballyarnett area of Derry in the early hours of this morning.
Police received a report that a number of masked men were at a house in Cornshell Fields and that a car had also been set on fire shortly after midnight.
PSNI Detective Inspector Cherith Craig said on arrival, it was established a shot had been fired at the front door of the house and a car had been set alight.
No one was injured during this incident, however the occupants of the dwelling were left very badly shaken.
Appealing for information DI Craig said: ” I would ask anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has any information to contact Detectives at Strand Road on the non emergency number 101.”
DI Craig concluded: “Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
