Social Development Minister, Mervyn Storey, is urging people in the Derry area to have their say on the future of advice services.
The Department recently launched a public consultation which aims to facilitate wide ranging discussion on the main challenges facing generalist advice services in Northern Ireland.
“Advising, Supporting, Empowering – A strategy for the delivery of generalist advice services in Northern Ireland 2015 – 2020” sets out proposals for a new strategy on advice services. The consultation will end on 14 December 2014.
Encouraging people to make their views heard, Minister Storey said his Department welcomed and valued the views of people who use these services and urged people in the Derry area to attend their local event.
He added: “We must ensure that everyone in Northern Ireland has access to the right advice, in the right way, at the right time.”
A public meeting will take place in Holywell Trust, on 8-14 Bishop Street, on Thursday next, 30 October, 2.00pm.
