Tributes have been paid to a young Derry woman who has lost her brave battle against cancer.
Sorcha Glenn (23), from Hayesbank in the Waterside, passed away peacefully at the Foyle Hospice following a long battle against cervical cancer.
Just two months ago, she spoke publicly about her battle with the disease hoping her story would encourage other woman to get screened.
Numerous tributes have been paid to her on social media.
Colin Walker posted one of the most poignant.
He said: “Last night, Heaven gained an angel, someone very strong, beautiful and so courageous, my heart and my families hearts go out to the family of one of the bravest and most inspirational young ladies I’ve had the privilege of knowing, you will never be forgotten brave Sorcha.”
Sorcha is survived by her parents, Vincent and Christina, sister Orlagh, brothers Emmett, Keelin and Cahir, and partner Matt Lynch.
Her remains will leave her home at 9.20am tomorrow for 10.00am Requiem Mass in St Columb’s Church, Chapel Road.
She will be laid to rest immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery.
