Hugh Duffy and Roisin Williamson were the winners of the Augusta Trophy (mixed foursomes) competition played recently at North West Golf Club at the weekend.
Playing in difficult conditions, they pipped John O’Donnell and Anne McCloskey on the last hole of the final to lift the trophy sponsored by Augusta Neff.
Hugh and Roisin took a early lead going two up after five holes but John and Anne fought back to level the match at end of the front night.
Following the turn, Hugh and Roisin found themselves three up with five to play.
But, John and Anne once again fought back to level the match on the 17th hole.
However, a great drive at the par five 18th from Roisin was followed by the shot of the day from Hugh to 12 feet of the hole and they went on to two-putt for a birdie and a well deserved victory.
