Ronan McLaughlin battled against difficult conditions to win the first of the NWTC Winter Series 5k run along the banks of the Foyle yesterday.
The North West Triathlon Club member posted 16.19 to finished four seconds ahead of Foyle Valley AC’s Stephen Connor who pipped City of Derry Spartan by a second to clinch second spot.
City of Derry’s Angela McCarron won the ladies’ race in a time of 18.06.
Triangle’s Katherine Woods Triangle came second in 20.26 ahead of Jayne Proctor (ERR) who finished third in a time of 21.57.
