Transport Minister Danny Kennedy has announced the start of a £140,000 major resurfacing and traffic calming scheme for the Ardan Road, Culmore in Derry.
The work on the Ardan Road will be from its junction with the Culmore Road to its junction with Coney Road, a distance of 364 metres.
Preliminary work will begin on Monday next, 10 November, with the main resurfacing being undertaken between 8 December and 17 December.
Works have been phased in such a way so as to maintain access to Hollybush Primary School at key times during the school day.
However, at other times between 8 and 17 December the road will be closed to through traffic.
Traffic will be diverted via Culmore Point Road and Culmore Road.
Access for local traffic shall be accommodated.
The scheme is expected to be substantially completed by 19 December.
Motorists are being advised some delays may be expected and that additional time should be allowed when planning any journeys.
