An announcement by Transport Minister Danny Kennedy that a £140,000 major resurfacing and traffic calming scheme at Ardan Road in Culmore is to begin next week has been welcomed by Sinn Fein Cllr Tony Hassan.
Preliminary work will begin on Monday with the main resurfacing being undertaken in December.
Welcoming the announcement, Cllr Hassan said: “It’s always a very busy road with traffic going to Culmore Point and the local Holly Bush School.
“Over the past year Sinn Féin has also called on DRD Roads Service to introduce traffic calming measures in the Culmore area such as Elmvale and Ardnalee and to put in place measures such a ‘safer route’ to school at Hollybush Primary School.”
