Derry’s Paddy McCourt has been included in the Northern Ireland squad for the Euro 2016 qualifier away to Romania.
The former Derry City favourite, who was an unused substitute in Brighton and Hove Albion’s 1-0 SkyBet Championship win over Wigan Athletic last night, is set to win his 15th cap.
Sammy McIlroy handed McCourt, now aged 30, his senior international debut against Spain at Windsor Park in April 2002.
However, he had to wait seven years for his second cap against San Marino in a qualifying match for the 2010 World Cup.
He has scored two international goals, both of which came in a 4–0 victory over the Faroe Islands in a 2012 European Championships qualification match in August 2011.
Also included in the squad for the Romanian game is former Derry City forward Niall McGinn, now starring with Aberdeen in the Scottish Premier League.
Since making his senior debut in November 2008, the 27-year-old has made 33 appearances, scoring twice.
Manchester United youngster, Paddy McNair, is the only new inclusion to the squad.
