Police are continuing to question Derry man Eamon Bradley who was suspected of fighting alongside rebels in Syria.
The 25-year-old was detained at his Melmore Gardens home in the Creggan estate this morning and taken to the PSNI’s Serious Crime Suite at Antrim Police Station for questioning.
A police spokesperson confirmed a 25-year-old man was arrested in Creggan by detectives from Serious Crime Branch as part of inquiries into reports of alleged activity in Syria.
Police forensic officers carried a detail search of the Derry man’s home following his arrest.
Earlier this year, it was reported the 25-year-old had joined rebels battling the regime of President Assad.
The former pupil of St Joseph’s Boys School is understood to have told his mother he was going to Turkey on holiday but instead went to Syria.
