Police at Strand Road in Derry are trying to get in touch with a man who tried to intervene in a domestic dispute and ended up being assaulted.
Detective Constable Scott, the investigating officer, explained that at about 7.30pm last night a man and a woman became involved in a dispute at Sackville Street.
When a passerby intervened, he was assaulted by the man.
Police arrived a short time later and arrested the man.
The passerby, however, left the scene and police would like to speak to him.
