Police in Derry have appealed information following a serious assault on a 15-year-old girl in the Shantallow area of the city in the early hours of this morning.
The attack took place between 1.30 and 3.00am on the Racecourse Road close to Shantallow estate.
Police are hunting a man described as being approximately 20-21 years old with a single upper tooth.
He spoke with a local Derry accent and was wearing a red coloured hooded top with white stripes.
Detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information about the incident to contact them at PSNI Serious Crime Branch.
They are particularly keen to speak with any young persons who were in the area of the tunnel, off the Racecourse Road, either late last night or early this morning.
